We are located in Kensington, Maryland. Our consultants and crews work with a wide range of clients, from individual homeowners to suburban developers and government regulators. Certified Arborists

Michael Guercin, Founder and President of Branches Tree Experts, is a licensed tree expert with more than 30 years in the industry. He is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist. He is also a member of the Tree Care Industry Association and holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from West Virginia University. Michael’s commitment to the environment goes beyond the realm of his business. In addition to his active involvement in local industry groups, he is the co-founder of the Wisconsin Avenue Beautification Project, a revitalization effort in NW Washington D.C.
Matthew Madeira is a certified arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture, with 13 years’ experience in tree care.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from West Virginia University. He was an active member of the Plant and Soil Science Club and Organic Farming Research Project. He has a broad background, in plant pathology, entomology and agronomy. Matt’s area of expertise centers on working with our commercial and institutional clients.
Edgar Trujillo is a certified arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture and has been employed by Branches for 13 years. He has a Associate’s degree from Montgomery County Community College.


Richard F. Handler is an arborist with 20 years’ experience in the fields of horticulture and tree care. He has an Associate’s degree in Biological Technology from the State University of New York at Farmingdale, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Dowling College and a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Morgan University. A member in Landscape Architecture Honor Society. He is certified in ornamental pesticide application by state of Maryland. In addition he has a broad background in plant pathology, entomology and botany.
